Let's get to know each other
I am Guillaume Tacquenier, photographer based in Cannes, on the French Riviera.
Music and images have always fascinated me. My relationship to photography started when my parents bought me my first camera. A Yashika MF2 on which I sticked a sticker from a French TV channel, thinking I was a little reporter ! I was 10 years old… 20 years later, I followed numerous photo courses in Paris and Geneva, to understand light, speed, composition, and work on architecture, black and white, street photography, night… I improve my perception of corporate, event photography, and portraits at the Cannes Photo Academy, an intensive photo training center.
My style
I like to work on portraits, architecture, events, or corporate photography… I love black and white photography which allows you to concentrate on light and texture. I enjoy working in different size formats : classic, panoramic, square… I also really enjoy sharing my passion during workshops.
My workflow
I am the author of all the photos appearing on this site. They are protected by copyright law. © Guillaume Tacquenier all rights reserved.
The photos presented on my website are all taken with Fujifilm XH2 or X100F cameras. My lenses range from 10mm wide angle to impressive 600mm zoom. Photos are processed with Capture One Pro software.
I work with light but I prefer to keep the authenticity of the shot.
I also print my own photographs to control the quality from shooting to printing. I use my professional Canon ImagePrograpf Pro-1000 printer with its 12 pigment ink cartridges, and premium exhibition or museum quality photo paper. When I see a 40cm x 60cm print coming out of my printer, something magical happens...
Portraits or Landscapes?
I love being alone in the middle of nature to make a picture of the first rays of light discovering a landscape. The hardest part is getting up at 4am. The freedom and well-being felt cannot be transposed. Being there at that moment to freeze a moment that will never happen again is a feeling that you cannot find in any other job or art form.
I surprised myself by finding this same state of mind when photographing portraits. I can work on an artistic or cinematographic aspect with outdoor light. And even indoors, or for a corporate event, the simple act of looking through my lens instantly disconnects me from all the daily life and worries.
The opportunity to photograph movie stars is also another form of satisfaction when you live a few minutes from Cannes.
Let's meet !
Photography is a matter of taste. I would never claim to be better than anyone else. The main thing is that everyone has fun. I have my style, my interpretation of colors, shadows and light.
